This project was an exciting chance for the students to experiment with shape, texture, and colour while using their previous knowledge of dragons and various artists as inspiration.
Before beginning their clay creations, the students spent time using a variety of sketching techniques to plan and develop their ideas. They studied various images of dragons and dragon eyes from different cultures and times in history, paying particular attention to details such as the size, shape and colours used.
To help them get a better feel for the clay, the students first practiced with playdough. This allowed them to experiment with different shapes and textures before moving on to the more challenging task of creating their final pieces out of clay. Using a variety of tools such as rollers and cutters, they carefully shaped and moulded the clay into the desired forms.
Throughout the process, the students were encouraged to use their imaginations and explore different ways of representing the dragon eye. This project was a great opportunity for our Year 3 students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. By using a variety of techniques and materials, they were able to produce unique and individual pieces of art that reflected their personal style and vision.
