F2 had their first Stay, Play and Learn All Together (SPLAT) event of the academic year.
This week in F2 we held our first Stay, Play and Learn All Together (SPLAT) event. This is an event where parents have a chance to experience what it is like to be with their children in school. The theme for this term’s SPLAT was ‘Spooktacular’, based on our learning experiences around the book ‘Room on the Broom’. We decided to include lots of messy play type activities such as frozen ghost hands, Witch’s brew of frog eyes and potion bottles, and cutting slithering spaghetti snakes. The children and parents were invited to dress in their version of a ‘spooky’ costume, we had witches and wizards, skeletons, vampires and a spider. The children loved having their adult in class, they were able to show off their learning environments filled with all the fun activities they get to enjoy daily. It also was a chance for the adults to see their children in action, with a lot of adults commenting on how much their child’s confidence has grown since starting F2. We cannot wait for our next SPLAT event next term.

We look back at what our F2s have experienced in less than one term already at BIS HCMC.
