On Tuesday 12th November, our Year 11 IGCSE Performing Arts students provided an evening of performances. They performed Drama Group Scripted pieces and Music ensemble and solo pieces in front of an audience of parents and peers. This is no small feat, and it takes a great deal of confidence and dedication to stand before others and share their work. I am incredibly proud of each one of them for embracing this challenge.
The journey to these performances has taught many of them invaluable lessons. They’ve learned how to manage their time, stay resilient in the face of challenges, and work collaboratively with others. Perhaps most importantly, they’ve learned the power of perseverance and how to push through self-doubt to deliver something they can be proud of. These lessons will continue to serve them in all that they go on to do.
Over the past 15 months, I’ve watched them grow and develop as both artists and musicians. They’ve evolved not only in their subject knowledge and technical abilities but also in confidence and creativity. Their performances reflected how far they’ve come. We wish them all the best in their upcoming exams. Keep nurturing these skills, discipline, creativity, communication, and teamwork extend far beyond the stage and will benefit you in many areas of life.
