Last week, Year 6 had the exciting opportunity to visit the Secondary Science Labs to explore the fascinating phenomenon of plasma. Using plasma balls, students experimented with focusing energy in specific directions and attempted to light different types of bulbs.
During the session, they learned that plasma is the fourth state of matter, formed when a gas is superheated or subjected to strong energy. They also explored how Earth's magnetic field protects us from the Sun’s solar emissions and discovered more about materials that act as conductors and insulators of electricity.
