Admissions are now open for 2025/2026
This was not so much about presenting curriculum content to them; rather an opportunity to give students a taste of the IB Diploma Programme at BIS Abu Dhabi and an understanding of the skills and learning styles that are fundamental to an IB education.
Students worked collaboratively on activities based around the six subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Science, Mathematics, and the Arts. The day involved scientific investigative work, learning the basics of sign language, data analysis and lively discussions surrounding the portrayal of women in advertising. The focus shifted to the Core on Day 2, with students experiencing their first ever Theory of Knowledge lesson and taking part in a carousel of short sessions to learn about CAS, the Extended Essay and university research, culminating in a Q&A session with current and former IB Diploma students.
To round off events and mark the end of Year 11 and iGCSE’s, all students were treated to a bowling trip and pizza in the IB Academy. Students were engaged throughout, and staff are already looking forward to working with this year group in the Senior School next year.
The penultimate week of term always brings a mix of energy and reflection. Lessons are still purposeful, but there is also a sense of looking back, recognising just how far our students have come.
This year, we have seen strong academic success across the school. Students have worked hard, and the outcomes reflect that effort. But just as important have been the achievements beyond the classroom in music, sport, language, technology, and the arts. Our curriculum is broad for a reason, and it has been clear this year that our students are thriving in many ways.
The British International School Abu Dhabi, part of the Nord Anglia Education family, is proud to announce that three students have been selected to attend this year’s 2025 Nord Anglia Student Summit in Houston, Texas, a transformative leadership event focused on global citizenship, sustainability, and student-led innovation.
