Dear Parents,

What a fantastic week it has been! We were delighted to welcome Year 6 parents on campus for the Primary Transition Coffee Morning. During the event, Mrs. Procter, Head of Year 7, shared valuable tips and practical information to help families support their children through the first weeks of secondary school. The presentation has been shared on Firefly and can also be found here.

Next up was International Day, an incredible parent-supported celebration that truly stole the show. This highlight of the year offered students an immersive cultural experience, thanks to the amazing efforts of our dedicated parents who went all out to make it unforgettable. We look forward to an evening of music at our summer concert on Tuesday evening 5pm-7pm in the Auditorium and hope to see many parents there. Please scan the QR code below to let us know if you will be attending.

International Day Highlights – Mrs. Rankin

Last week, the secondary campus became a hive of cultural activity, celebrating nationalities from across the world. Language workshops, international literature displays, live musical performances, international sporting competitions and form presentations are just a few of the ways our students celebrated in the run up to the big day itself.

On Friday, our school Auditorium was transformed into a vibrant space where students could embark on a journey across 16 different countries! It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to taste a variety of international cuisine, with lots of delicious goodies on offer that reflected the diverse cultures represented within our school. Students enjoyed playing traditional games from around the world and learning about unique customs and traditions from each country. A highlight was seeing so many students proudly dressed in their national dress or wearing colours to represent their heritage, which truly brought the event to life.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our PTA and parent volunteers for their invaluable support in making this school-led event such a memorable and enriching experience for all. It was a fantastic celebration of global cultures and community spirit.

Carrie Trip Highlights – Ryan Sayce
As the year is drawing to a close, there is always time to slip in a trip to the theatre. On the 13th June, twenty students made their way to the Hong Kong Arts Centre in Wan Chai to watch ‘Carrie - The Musical’ performed by Face Productions. Students were encapsulated and transfixed by this stage adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name. The group of students from years 10, 11 and 12 had nothing but praise for the cast of the production, commenting on how professional the production sounded and how well executed the different show elements were.

Two of our very own NAIS Hong Kong students took to the stage and gave it their all! Both students were exceptional in their performance, with outstanding singing, acting and dance choreography.

Overall, this was a wonderful experience for the students to attend a live theatre performance of such a high standard. Very engaging, very enriching, and very enjoyable.

IB Transition Days – Mr. Spanos, Ms Jennings

We were delighted to welcome our Year 11 students back to Kwun Tong Campus last week for the IB Transition days. We look forward to welcoming the majority of Year 11 students back in August and wish those moving to pastures new the best of luck! The two days ended with the Prize Giving Ceremony, a celebration of student progress and achievement over the past two years. It was truly gratifying to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our students following the completion of their IGCSE exams. The short poem below was delivered at the Year 11 Prize Giving in anticipation of next academic year for our Year 11s.

An IB Education
The IB is a journey wide and deep,
Six groups of study, where young minds leap.
Beyond the subjects, the Core takes flight,
Theory of Knowledge sheds new light.
The Extended Essay is a scholar’s quest,
Creativity, Action, Service where we give our best.
Three at higher level, three standard too,
The Arts’ a lens to see the world through.
Individuals and societies help reveal,
To problem solving, the Sciences and Mathematics appeal.
Language and literature, stories unfold,
Group 2 a new language to behold.
The IB is valued far and wide,
It opens global doors, so we can decide.
Innovators and critical thinkers rise,
With research skills so sharp, you can reach to the skies.
Global citizens with purpose clear,
Student leaders developing year on year.
To you the IB is our invitation,
as the gold standard in education.
